I am… collapsing.

My marshmallow body
Stuck in the chasm
Of my broken city / heart
Is having the life sucked out
By my Father

Pulling the two sides together
Crushing me in the process

I look to My Father.

I cry out

“My God, My God
Why have you forsaken me?”

In answer
My Father spits out
The burnt ashes
Hidden inside my white facade
That He has removed

But before
I can recoil in disgust
He gathers them in His hands
Compresses the charcoal
Breathes upon it

My Father opens his hands.

I look
We all look
And see…

A diamond!
