MIC Check
Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Hearing, then healing, broken hearts
- By laying down my life
- For my enemies
- As Christ does for me
Yahweh Approach Memo
Continued from Curtained
I am… stretched.
I have entered the chasm
Of empty chaos
That divides the city
And my heart
With my two arms and two legs
I grasp the two sides
And try to pull them closer together
They resist
And seem to drift further apart
I cry out in agony
I look to My Father.
He says:
“Relax”
I am afraid
The tension will tear me apart
He says
“Let go”
Before I have time to think
How deep the chasm is
Or what might happen to the city
If it keeps getting wider
I let go.
I don’t fall
I expand
Multiplying in volume
If not in mass
I become like a marshmallow
Filling up the chasm
Fearing I will push the two sides
Away from me
Away from each other
But I stick
Then I feel an emptiness
In the pit of my stomach
As life is drawn out of me
Through my umbilical cord
By my own Father!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Misshapen
- Stuck
- Emplaced
- Hollowed out
- Connecting
- Expansive
Scripture
“For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other. I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.”
Isaiah 45:18-19 NLT
