I am…stretching.

Our spirits broke free
Of our stony shells
And flew after Jesus

We look down
At the earth spread before us
But when we do
We falter and begin to fall

I look for Jesus.

I see Him
Above and before us
Pointing the way

He says

“Keep your eyes on me
And not on gravity”

It is hard
Not to look back
In concern
For my falling comrades

But I must obey
And can help them best
By focusing on Jesus

Instead
I call out to them by name

Some
Are close by
Having also seen Jesus

Others
When they hear their name
From a great distance
Will look towards me
And see Jesus

One of those nearby
Starts singing
And we join her
So that others
Will look in our direction

I look at Jesus.

He smiles
Grateful that we are following
And drawing others along

And so
He speeds up!
