I am… cracking.

I had thought our worship
Would calm the storm

But if anything
It gets worse

The ship
Starts to break apart
We
Start to break apart

I look for Jesus.

He is standing
On the bow of the ship
Like a figurehead

No
No longer just a figurehead
A lightning rod
Drawing the storm
Into Himself
And us

He glows.

He looks to us
We glow

St. Elmo’s fire
Zips through our stony bodies
Reviving our stony hearts

With everything falling apart
We worship
And sing

And our song
Breaks through
The breaking

We break loose
And start to fly…
