Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 7/16 YAM: Shipping

I am… sinking.

The boat I had built in the desert
With children who once were giants
Has rescued us from the flood

But now
The wind and rain
Are threatening us

So the children
Are turning back into giants
And the boat cannot bear the mass

I look for Jesus.

He was sleeping
In the bottom of the boat

He sees me
And smiles at my hidden panic

“O ye of little faith”

I expect Him
To calm the storm
But instead
He calms each child

One at a time
He looks them in the eye

He sees them
They see Him
Seeing them
They see themselves
As He sees them

And lay down
The armor
The stone
They had worn
Which protected them
Which was killing us all

Jesus breathes
And sweeps away
The armor
The stone
The clouds
The storm

We fall to our knees
And worship Him

To be continued

Reflection

I feel…

  • Storm-tossed
  • Cleansed
  • Unburdened
  • Liberated
  • Lightened
  • Worshipful
  • Rescued from my self

Scripture

“Pay attention, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.”‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
