I am… racing.

I reach a battlefield
Where the people of God
Are being bullied by giants

Fear
Shame
Addiction
Legalism
Alienation
Desperation
Despair

I look for Jesus.

He nods

I head towards the nearest giant
The one who most looks like me

He sees me coming
Gauges my speed
Ponders how best to swat me

And is stunned
When I stop
And kneel before him
Defenseless

I look in his eyes.

I see myself
He sees himself
In me

I speak his name
He begins to shake
Layers begin to flake off

Dust
Armor
Stone

Until all is left
Is a scared child
A terrified infant

I look to my Father.

He comes
He collects the babe
And comforts it
And me

My Father looks to me.

I nod
Stand up
And race to the next giant…
