Today’s Most Important Challenge is…

Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 7/11 IAM: Sheltering

I am… shell-shocked.

Everything I had built
Has been destroyed

Worse
Their only purpose
Had been to imprison Jesus

I look to Jesus.

‘Lord
How can I build
When all I have left
Are the broken pieces
Of my folly and my pride?’

He grins

“Those
Are my favorite building materials”

Jesus looks to me.

Son of man
Can these stones become bread?”

I shudder

‘Lord
You alone know’

He picks up
The shattered fragments
Of my ego
My identity
My self-worth
My accomplishments

He tears them in half
He hands me my portion

“Son of man
This is My Body
Broken for you

I fall to my knees

‘Lord
I am not worthy

His face becomes stern

“Unless you eat My Body
And drink My Blood
You cannot take your rightful place
In My Kingdom”

With trembling fingers
I take the stone / bread / flesh
It tastes like honey in my mouth
But is bitter like gall in my stomach

He cups His Hands
They fill with the rain
Still pouring down upon us
Faster than it can drain
Through the holes in His wrists

Jesus looks at me.

“It is true
You are not worthy”

I bow my head
In shame

“That is why
You must drink
My cup of forgiveness”

I look at Jesus.

I nod

He tips
The cup of His Hands
To pour living water
Down my throat

It is sweeter than wine
But then…

My head explodes!

To be continued

Reflection

I feel…

  • Overwhelmed
  • Beyond reason
  • Undone
  • Destroyed (in a good way)
  • Unthinkable

Scripture

“I will pour refreshing water on the thirsty and streams on the dry ground. I will pour out my Spirit on your children, my blessing upon your descendants.”‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭3‬ ‭TPT‬‬
