I am… newborn.

No different
Than the other babies
Who fell from heaven

Like sheep without a shepherd
We wait for parents
To collect us

I look for our Father.

I discover
He has been looking for us

He calls the four winds
North
South
East
West

With anguish in His voice
He cries out
“Absalom, my son!”

The winds
Weep
And obey
And come for us

We
Are the rebels
Who broke the heart of God

We
The accusers
Of one another
Who were cast out of heaven

We
Are the children
Christ died to save

The winds blow…
The Spirit descends…
The breath enters…

We rise up.

A great multitude
No man can count

Singing a new song to the Lamb
Testifying that the world was wrong
About sin, righteousness, and judgement
No longer slaves to the Law
But children
Friends
Lovers

We drink from His cup
And take our seats
On the right and the left
Of His banqueting table

We judge the nations
With joy and laughter
With righteousness and peace

His banner over us is love
And we will reign
With Him
By His blood
For ever and ever
To the end of the age
