I am… adrift.

Jesus has cut our tow ropes
And plummetted to earth

We are scattered
Slowly falling
In random directions

I look for Jesus.

He is not falling
He is diving

Drilling into the ground
Punching into bedrock
One blow at a time

Which makes Him hard to see
But easy to hear

I try to time my falling
To match His strokes

I see others
Doing the same

We look for each other.

We come together
Making us more visible

Others join us
Helping us all match
The rhythm of Jesus

Someone finds the hole
And we swarm there together
Forming a cyclone
A funnel
A beacon
A contrail

Highlighting the path of Jesus
Diving after Him

Until we all disappear underground.
