Made of dust and holy water
Laid out on the floor

Jesus
Stepped
On me

Smooshed me
Deformed me
Folded me
Spindled me

Into a tube
A worm
A rod

Did He
Regret me
Correct me
Forget me?

I look for Jesus.

He is not fidgeting
He is not starting over

He chooses me
To go through the furnace
First

Hard
Polished
Refined

He takes
A tooth
From His mouth

The tooth
The whole tooth
And nothing but the tooth

He affixes it
To my head
And uses it
To pierce the hearts
Of the others

Threading me
Weaving me
Binding me

Together
To each other
To Him
With me

Together
We enter the fire…
