I am… standing on a coastline.

Staring out to sea
Seeing the far islands
Warlike, savage
Destroying themselves
Threatening each other
And us

My heart breaks
For them
For what they are doing
Have done
Might yet do

I look for Jesus.

He is standing on the beach
He calls me to Him
I obey

He hands me a sword in a belt
And a quiver of arrows on a strap
But no bow

I put them on
And kneel at His feet

He says

“Go and do
What needs to be done”

I kiss His feet
He blesses mine
And I start running
On top of the waves
Out to sea

Out to see
What must be done
For Him

To be continued

“Be silent and listen, every island in the sea. Have courage and come near, every one of you nations. Let’s settle this matter! Who appointed this ruler from the east?
