I am… rebuked.

The darkness chides me
For my lack of faith
Just because Jesus and the light
Are scouring the surface of my heart
While I wait in the emptiness underneath:

“Did you think
God was only in the light?
Have you not considered
You were left for a purpose?”

I look for Jesus in the darkness.

And I realize
The emptiness
Bears His image
In reverse

A Christ-shaped void
With me in the center
Yearning to connect with Him

I embrace the darkness.

It completes me
I complete it
In perfect incompleteness

As we align
I hear a click
As everything falls into place

The darkness says:

“Thank you”

The void says:

“We are ready”

The earth says:

“You are well come”

Together….

We head for Jesus.
