I am… sheep.

I am the king of sheep
Their leadersheep

I lead them to green pastures
Beside quiet waters
They are happy

But then
The weather turns
The sky grows dark
Water rises

The grass withers
The flowers fade

The sheep are nervous
They start to wander

I try to push them
Back to safety
But that
Just makes them more nervous
And they scatter

Finally…

I look for Jesus.

He has been standing
Watching
Waiting
For me to reach
The end of myself

For me to remember
I am just sheep

He speaks a Word
The sheep stop
We recognize His voice
And follow Him
To safety

Reflection

I feel…

• Foolish
• Arrogant
• Deluded
• Humbled
• Grateful
• Secure
