Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 5/9 IAM: Revealing

I am… finished.

I wake from my slumber
I stare in awe
At the perfectly straight road

Through absurd obedience
And insane miracles
Plus horrific sacrifice
We have completed
The impossible highway
Over impassible terrain
Together

On time
On budget
On the right track

Now what?

I look for Jesus.

He is standing
At the end of the road
Looking forward
To the next segment

I go stand next to Him
Looking where He looks
Seeing what He sees

The path ahead
Is difficult
But no longer impossible

I look to Jesus.

He says

“Speak to the road”

I say

“What shall I speak?”

He says

“Well done
Good and faithful servants
Enter into your rest”

I look at Jesus.

I realize
He is both
Commanding me
And speaking to me

I must enter into His rest
Before I can give it to others

My work here is done
Others will complete
What I have begun

They need to see
To feel
To experience
To enjoy
The peace of God
In me
Amidst the impossible work

So they too
Can take
And build
And share
God’s highway
To heaven

Reflection

I feel…

  • Complete
  • Exhausted
  • Done
  • Grateful
  • Ready for what’s next

Scripture
