Holiness orphaned results in necrotized yearnings
MIC Check
Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Noticing and reframing
- Orphaned yearnings
- So they lead me to Jesus
Yahweh Approach Memo
Continued from 4/27 YAM: Giver
I am… overwhelmed.
Rather than trying
To bring life to the desert
I now long for
Dead space in the jungle
In my quest for a mate
I crossed to the Other Side
The Primal Reality
From which we sprung
But it is too wild
Fertile
Crowded
Chaotic
Connected
I cannot see her
Or Jesus
Or even myself
I look to My Father.
At first
I cannot see Him
I start to panic
Thinking
The chaos
Hides Him
From me
Then…
I look harder.
And I realize
The complexity
Reveals Him
In me
In the desert
God was far
I had to travel
Long enough
To see Him
In the jungle
God is everywhere
I have be still
Long enough
To feel Him
I look for Jesus.
He promised
To go before me
I cannot see Him
In the riot
My eyes
Are still overwhelmed
By the details
I must train them
To notice
The signs of His passage
But
I can see My Father
His face
His eyes
Point me
To Jesus
As I follow
In His footsteps
I look for her.
But am totally unprepared
For what happens next
I finally
Find a dead space
A meadow
A savannah
A clearing
I breathe a sigh of relief
As I step out
Into the open
Only to hear
The enormous breath
Of a sleeping dragon
His (or her) head
Poking out
Of a forbidding cave
Worse
Jesus footsteps
Lead directly
Into the dragon’s den
And I am pretty sure
That is where
I can find my beloved
I look back.
Towards the desert
Longing for
My Dual Reality
Then I remember
Why I left
All I went through
All I dared
All for this
With a sigh…
I look to the dragon.
I step into the clearing
And surprise myself
By releasing a shout
A challenge
Loud enough to wake the dead
Certainly enough
To rouse a sleeping dragon
He opens one eye
Lazily
And speaks
“How wonderful
Of you to come
You are just in time
For my lunch”
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Threatened
- Surrounded
- Uncomfortable
- Excited
- Alive
- Dangerous
- Close
- Desperate
- Ready
Scripture
“Then the lame will leap like playful deer and the tongue-tied will sing songs of triumph. Gushing water will spring up in the wilderness and streams will flow through the desert. The burning sand will become a refreshing oasis, the parched ground bubbling springs, and the dragon’s lair a meadow with grass, reeds, and papyrus.”
Isaiah 35:6-7 TPT
