I am… settled.

The waters
Of My Father’s tears
Have lifted me
Carried me
Floated me
Transported me

To this place
Of quiet
Refuge
Peace
Security

I look to My Father.

He says

“Rest here
Awhile
I have to prepare
A surprise for you”

I cry out

“Don’t leave me!
I hate
To be alone”

He smiles

“You
Were never
Alone”

I see My Father leave.

And for a moment
The darkness
Overwhelms me

I close my eyes
Then I feel a hand
Grasping mine

Two arms
Lifting me up
Out of the water
Setting my feet
Upon solid ground

I open my eyes

I see Jesus.

He says

“I’ve been right behind you
The entire time
But you couldn’t see me
Because of the Father’s glory”

I cry out

“How long
Til I see His glory
Again?”

He smiles
But does not answer

Instead
He stands
And gestures
For me
To follow
Him

With limp hands
And feeble knees
I go…
