I am… trapped.

In the well of my heart
A polished circular shaft
Impossible for me to climb
Or others to descend

I look to my father.

He feels
My pain

I feel
His heart

His tears
Fill my heart
Flood the well

For a moment I panic
Waterboarded
Triggered
By the depth
Of His emotion
For me

But I fix my eyes
On The One
Who loves me

I see my father.

And just for a moment
I grasp
The edges
The frayed hem
Of infinite love
Boundless compassion
Unfailing patience
Fathomless mercy

I see myself.

In My Father

I see you
I see her
I see them

Then the waters rush in
And carry me away
And I see nothing
