Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Making peace
- With my inner demons
- By making them
- Disciples of Jesus
Immanuel Approach Memo
Concluding from 4/17 IAM: Exalted/Newsong
I am…
We are…
Burning.
As a lion cub
I led the hyenas
On feasting on the body of Jesus
Whom they had killed
Then forming the Body of Jesus
From His bones
Using the Newsong of Our Father
But as we approach Him
To kneel in obeisance
The purity of His Presence
Consumes us
We stagger
And fall
I look for Jesus.
And only then
Do I realize
My folly and error
I had let the hyenas
Make me the head
Of our Body
We all just assumed
Or reverted to
The natural order
That
Is what is killing us
I look to my hands.
My right
And my left
As my final command
I tell them
To pluck me off
And cast me down
They are terrified
(So am I)
But we are in agony
Desperate
And we dare not run away
From Our Father
Again
So they obey
I look to His body
From my fallen position
Which has become a front row seat
For the miracle
The headless Body
Gropes toward Our Father
By pursuing the path
Of greatest pain
The burning
Becomes more intense
Yet somehow more freeing
As the impurities burn
And divisions melt away
The Body collapses
Prostrates itself
At the feet of Our Father
He whistles
And a white dove comes
And makes His nest
On the empty neck
From which I was removed
I see The Body of Christ
Stand up
Still headless
Except for the head of the dove
Just barely visible above the nest
But now perfect
Unbroken
Unscarred
United
Unction
If I could stand on my four feet
I would be tempted to bow in worship
Instead
My right hand
And my left
Gently pick me up
And set my feet on a solid rock
With my hind feet
On high places
And front feet
On a staircase
That leads to eternity
From there
I can see the next level
Of darkness
Of glory
Of hyenas
Waiting
Waiting
For me
To lead them
In becoming
The Body of Christ
I let loose a roar.
Which shakes
The heavens and the earth
I am surprised
To discover
I am no longer a cub
Because I am no longer fatherless
Our Father
Has claimed me
Matured me
Grown me
Filled me
I am His
He is mine
I see Our Father
As My Father
And that the Father I know
Is just a shadow
Of One who awaits
At the next level
And the Newsong
Is just an echo
Of the Song of the Redeemed
That my heart
Longs to sing
With Him
With you
Forever
Amen.

Scripture
“You who are far away, listen to what I have done, and you who draw near to me, acknowledge my power and strength!
Isaiah 33:13-16 TPT
Sinners in Zion are afraid, and the godless are gripped with panic, saying, ‘Who can dwell with such an all-consuming fire? Who can live in the presence of the never-ending flame?’
Only those who walk with integrity and speak what is true, who despise even the thought of cheating the poor, and do not accept a bribe, nor plot violence, nor contemplate doing evil — they will live safely on the heights and make their safe place the mountain strongholds, with bread in steady supply and water assured.”
