Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from 4/15 IAM: Re-Sourced
I am… humiliated.
I was once a proud Lion Cub
Then a carefree insectivore
But now
I am no better than a hyena
I have become a scavenger
Feeding on the dead body
Of Jesus
I slink away
As the hyenas who killed Him
Creep forward
And follow my example
I look to Our Father.
Why?
Why do you let them do this?
Why did you make me do this?
I look for Jesus.
But all I see are scattered bones
Picked clean
Some with gnaw marks
I grow cold
Within my fur, I shiver.
I hear
My Father’s voice
“Son of Man
Can these bones live?”
I turn in shock.
To look at The One
Whose Song calmed the hyenas
Whose Word sent me to feast
On the flesh of His Son
Whom I realize
Had planned this
All along
He smiles.
“You were born a prince
You became a slave
It is time
To become My Son”
“You were born a prince
You became a slave
It is time
To become My Son”
Our Father
He begins to Sing
But not simple music
To soothe the savage beasts
This is Newsong
Like unto the Song of Creation
Which sang earth and all stars
Into being
But better
We begin to dance
Around the altar
The table
Of Christ’s sacrifice
So caught up in Newsong
We forget
Our shame
Our failure
Our status
Our pride
We even forget
Our mortality
And gravity
The bones of Christ
Rise up
Expand
And we fly to join them
Until
To my shock
I realize
We have become the Body of Christ
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Glorious
- United
- Forgiven
- Intended
- Unimaginable
- Awestruck
Scripture
“The land mourns and languishes. Lebanon is disgraced and withered. The fields of Sharon are like a desert. The lands of Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare. “Now I will arise,” says the Lord. “Now I will exalt myself; now I will unveil my majesty!”
Isaiah 33:9-10 TPT
