4/1 IAM: Entwined

Am I the April Fool?
Am I willing to be one for Christ?

MIC Check

Today’s Most Important Challenge is…

  • Looking past dangerous offenses
  • To see my pain and theirs
  • So Jesus can heal us

Immanuel Approach Memo

I am… caught in a spider’s web

Well, really just tangled up
In a bunch of old cobwebs

There probably isn’t any spider
I’m not physically trapped
It merely feels that way

But my struggles don’t clear them

Belatedly:

I look for Jesus.

He is holding what looks like… a blowtorch?

I am scared
I close my eyes

He asks: Do you trust me?

I open my eyes.

I look into His
I remember all we’ve been through
The ocean
Flying
Cityscape
Warfare

I stare boldly
(Perhaps more than I feel)
And say: Yes!

He unleashes the torch
But it is light
Not heat

There is no pain
Only a gentle warmth

The cobwebs don’t burn off
They are transformed
Into Cinderella’s gown

A bridal gown
I am His Bride

Everything I thought
A hindrance to following Jesus
(Or at least accomplishing my mission)

Was actually His gift
Clothing me
For what is Most Important

Reflection

I feel…

  • Wrapped
  • Enveloped
  • Swaddled
  • Covered
  • Protected
  • Free

Scripture

“Overwhelmed with bliss are all who will entwine their hearts in him, waiting for him to help them.”‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭18‬c ‭TPT‬‬
