  • To Incarnate Christ in the world

Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 3/13 IAM: Brought Low

I am… hard at work
Examining the brand-new machinery
Underneath the (formerly?) ruined city

Why am I here?
Everything seems to be working perfectly

And the scale is so vast
If something went seriously wrong
I probably wouldn’t notice in time
Much less be able to fix it

I look for Jesus.

For a moment, I can’t find Him
And start to panic

Then I hear Him whistling
The Song of the Redeemed

I run
Somewhat ungraciously
To find Him

Then stop short

Because it wasn’t Jesus
It was an old man
Wearing the same uniform as us
With a white stone name tag
I cannot read

And yet
It was Jesus
Singing through Him

Maybe
That’s what I’m here to learn

Maybe
I’m not here for a What
But a Who

To be continued

Reflection

I feel…

  • Embarrassed
  • Clueless
  • Refocused
  • Humbled
  • Led

Scripture

The path of the righteous is level; You clear a straight path for the upright.

Isaiah 26:7
