I am… part of a wall?

Those of us who went ahead
Formed a perimeter and Gates
Around the ruined city

The Army of the Redeemed
Led by Jesus
Gave a mighty shout
And walls began to form

Not walls exactly
Cliffs

The whole city rose up
Like a push pop
With us Scouts on the top edge
With the marchers down below

I look for Jesus.

He is standing right in front of me
At the West gate
(and probably the other gates too)
Hanging in midair

He is casual
Relaxed
Smiling

He reaches out His hand
Inviting me to walk to Him
On thin air

I gulp
Even though we were lifted here
By the Holy Spirit
Stepping off the rock
Into empty space
Takes a whole different courage

But… JESUS

I close my eyes
I hear His voice
And step off the edge
