MIC Check
Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Embracing the inheritance
- Of God as my Father
- To break generational patterns of unforgiving
- So I can love like Christ
- No matter the cross
Immanuel Approach Memo
Continued from 3/9 IAM: Grieved Out
I am… standing at the gate
Of the fence surrounding the Hill of Christ
Looking out
Over the ruined city
Beside me
Is my Opposite Number
Surrounding us
Is the Family of God
Newly harmonized
The song continues
Grows stronger
I no longer need to beat my tambourine
Perhaps I no longer can
My old fingers too slow to catch
The subtle rhythms
The youth are playing
To align the singing
With the Song of Christ
I look for Jesus.
He is on the other side
He looks towards the city
He looks towards me
He looks towards heaven
A Voice speaks from heaven
“This is my beloved son
In whom I am well-pleased”
The Spirit descends like a dove
But not on Jesus
On me
On my Opposite Number
And many of the musicians
And several of the vocalists
Why me
Why us
Why so many
Why not all
But the Voice
Is not done
We can feel the silence
Like a tangible thing
As we wait
For the Voice to speak
Again
It is dark
It has been a long night
So very, very long
But at last
We see dawn breaking
Over the broken city
At last
We all hear the Voice
Saying
“Rise up, my children
The kingdoms of this world
Have become
The kingdom of our God
And of His Christ
And of His Church”
And those of us
On whom His Spirit descended
Begin to ascend…
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Exalted
- Humbled
- Heartbroken
- Elated
- Elevated
- Connected
- Together
- One
Scripture
And in that day it will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited. Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
Isaiah 25:9
