Today’s Most Important Challenge is…

  • Launching others on their quests
  • So I can complete my own

Scripture

“We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One!
But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere.”‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭24‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Immanuel Approach Memo

Concluded from 3/3 IAM: Opening Up

I am… falling.

I have released the Apple
That Jesus is casting over the shoreline
Binding all the gardens together with its seeds

Am I finished?
Is it enough
That all the Gardens fertilized from the Other Side
Be brought together?

No.

We were never meant to return to the Garden
We are supposed to build the City of God
And can only do that
If we cross over

The Gardens are meant
To equip us
To remind us
To heal us
So that we dare Cross Over

I look for Jesus.

He sees me falling
Catches my eye
Smiles and nods
As if to say:

“I see you.
Don’t worry.
You know what you must do.”

And somehow
I do

I fly to Jesus.

I angle my body to point towards Him
He drops the fishing pole
And raises His arms
As if to catch me

I spread my arms
And begin to grow
First back to human-size
And then some

My arms keep growing
Until they are long enough
To reach the other side
Until they are wide enough
To become a bridge
Until they are strong enough
To bear the sins of the world

Jesus catches me
Hugs me
Holds me
Up

The last seed falls
Takes root and sprouts
Becoming the on-ramp
To my bridge

And the hungry people
Begin to cross
Over
Again and again

Amen and amen

The End

Reflection

I feel…

  • Complete
  • Secure
  • Carried
  • Held
