Today’s Most Important Challenge is…

  • Trusting God’s Spirit
  • Rather than my strengths
  • To herd my contradictory impulses

Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 2/10 IAM: Faith-Fully Clothed

I am… a little child
Newly emerged from battle/birth
Wearing only a purple sash
Belted around my waist by a crown of thorns
On my bloody and pierced body

Behind me
Are natural enemies
Predator and prey
Villain and victim

I cannot control them
Though I have been fool enough to try

No more
Instead
I lead them
And for some reason

I look for Jesus.

He is in front
Bearing a heavy cross
Like it’s an easy yoke

They aren’t following me
They are following Him

But somehow
I make Him easier to see
Or perhaps relate to

Reflection

I feel…

  • Small
  • Overwhelmed
  • Formidable
  • Ridiculous
  • Hopeful
  • Grateful
  • Torn

Scripture

The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf and young lion and fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them.

Isaiah 11:6
