Hiding under a rock

It is heavy
Cold and wet

But safe
Like a sarcophagus

I don’t even know what I am hiding from
But I am afraid to find out

But don’t want to open my eyes

So I listen for Him

I hear footsteps
I fear it is Them

But then He starts singing
I recognize His voice

I relax
A little

Then tense up again
When He speaks to Them
“Roll away the stone”

I am afraid
Of being seen
By Them

Naked and defenseless

But… Jesus!

And anyway
I have nowhere left to hide.

I feel…

And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear,
