Each time I lift a leg to step forward
The suction fights me
Pulls me back

Keeps me stuck
Bogged down
Repeating the same mistakes over and over

I look for Jesus.

I don’t see Him
I feel Him

Beneath me

He was beside me
But dove down
Into the muck
Face first

To break the hold
To lift me up

Carrying me on His shoulders
