MIC Check
- Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Finding the right alternative to my heavy yoke
- So I fully engage with
God’sChrist’s mission - In an emotionally healthy way
Immanuel Approach Memo
I am carrying a heavy yoke.
It is not a bad yoke.
It is a godly yoke.
I see the brokenness of the world.
I see how Jesus has healed me.
I want to help them.
But I am torn between the tension
Of wanting to give people what I have
And knowing I often give them myself
Rather than Jesus
Just to ease my own pain
I cry out to Jesus.
My yoke becomes lighter.
I look for Jesus.
But I don’t see Him.
I see you.
I see all of you.
All of us.
Then I see Christ
In us
And there is no them
Reflection
I feel…
- Together
- Weary and heavy laden
- One in a million
- De-tired
Scripture
“The Lord Almighty will lash them with a whip, as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb; and he will raise his staff over the waters, as he did in Egypt.
In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat.”
Isaiah 10:26-27 NIV
