“I know this is not sustainable.
But hold on a little longer, and then you can rest.
You just have to trust me that this is exactly what you need.
In fact, it is the true answer to every prayer you have ever prayed.”

Immanuel Approach Memo

I am …
Unable to see clearly

I am floating.
Perhaps in water or air so thick and cloudy everything seems blurry.
Or maybe it’s just my eyesight.

Or my “I” sight.

I look for Jesus.
I don’t see Him.
There is a brief moment of panic.
Then I feel His comforting touch on my arm.

He says: Turn around.

I’m not sure I can.
This feels more like air than water.

But then I remember.
Jesus is right beside me.
Close enough to touch.

He can be my anchor.

I pivot.

Dawn is breaking.
The fog is burning away.

It is too bright.
I close my eyes.

Jesus says: Don’t.
Then touches my eyelids.

I open my eyes.
It is glorious.

A pleasure so intense it might be pain
But I choose to call it joy
Because I am sharing it with Jesus

“All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
By the time this child is old enough to choose what is right and reject what is wrong, he will be eating yogurt and honey.
For before the child is that old, the lands of the two kings you fear so much will both be deserted.”‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
