[Sequel to Immanuel Encounter: On The Beach]

Today’s Most Important Challenge (MIC Check): Ensuring my soul and wife feel God’s love through me.

Walking down the water
Deeper into the past
Deeper into my soul

Past sea monsters and shipwrecks

I finally reach the bottom.
The Real Bottom.
It is very dim
But I can still see clearly.
It is surprisingly clean.
All the dirt and disasters filtered away by the False Bottoms

Jesus is waiting for me.
He is smiling.
Clearly there.
But wavy. Perhaps due to the water.

He beckons me to follow Him.
I do.

We come to a… porthole? Airlock?

A big metal flattened dome.
With a huge wheel on top.

He beckons me towards Him.
For some reason He can’t — or won’t — open it without me.

We pull together
Though in opposite directions
The wheel keeps us moving in the same circle

[Political depolarization? Marriage?]

I expect the sea to pour down through the hatch.
But the reverse happens.

Some Substance pours out
Into the sea
Into the very water itself
Transforming it

Before
Only Jesus and I could breathe here
Now anyone can.

But
It is slowly percolating from the bottom up
How will people get down here?
Do I have to wait?

I look at Jesus
His face is radiant
But His smile is grim

There are no words here
So I must closely watch His face
And read His eyes
Interpret His every gesture

He nods at me
Glances upward
Points with one finger
Then pantomimes gathering something in one fist
And pulling it down.

I understand
And slowly began the climb back up.

Time for Reverse Fishing.
