Today I will live the truth
That Christ alone is the key
To all my lesser desires

If we want the world to be free
We must learn to share heaven’s key

It’s easier to hold on tight
To my understanding of right
Instead of the transformative
Call to say: Father, forgive!

The crux of the question I face
Is how to fulfill Law with Grace
Such that when my ego fails
I’ll know that Christ’s Kingdom prevails

The truth — and it makes Jesus laugh —
Is that He holds the much bigger half
And when I yield Him my part
He’s free to work His great art

So bring on the crosses and flames
For that is how He my Self tames
As I lose to Him all of Me
The world unlocks His victory
