10/18 Epic Poem: Faith See-ed

And the Lord answered,
“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree,
‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’
and it will obey you.

Luke 17:6

The walk of faith
Is not won by greed
But only by those
Who live what they see-ed

It’s easy to curse
This world full of sins
Much harder to find
Where healing begins

If we had the eyes
To see our own face
Then we’d recognize
Our deep need for grace

The cause of our hate
Is deep shame and pain
The only way out?
To be born again!

To see Kingdom come
We must take the step
Of finding the cross
Christ calls us to schlep

The part of my soul
I dare not let die
Because it protects
My “me” from my “I”

I fight tooth and nail
To avoid that fate
Despite all my lies
Of how God is great

That is the place
I doubt God is good
And dare not face
The things that I should

And crazier still
Is Christ came here too
When faced with a cross
For me and for you

The cup that He drank
He tried to avoid
Because of the good
That would be destroyed

Yet He had to trust
His Father above
To grow something new
From heart-broken love

And this is the faith
That makes mountains shake
Small steps to the cross
See Heaven awake

Today I will see
What is standing between
Me and my cross
And the glory beyond
