9/25 Poem: Love Nose / Heaven Scent

Hat tip to my favorite poet, Robert Frost

Lord I suppose
I need a new nose
That sniffs out Your love
Wherever it goes

Sometimes You must shove
My face in Your glove
So I can sense
Your scent from above

Make me less dense
To Your recompense
By freeing my heart
From taking offense

I need a new start
At learning the art
Of how You redeem
By taking my part

Help me see the gleam
Of heavenly beam
That shows You’re at work
Despite what I seem

Don’t let me shirk
Or go off berserk
But follow the trail
You gave as a perk

Then I will not fail
To stay on the rail
Which smells like a rose
That crossed heaven’s veil

Til all the world knows
My Savior arose
And follows their nose
Wherever He goes

Today I will scent heaven
In the stink of this world
