8/5 Poem: Hear Say

Q. What are you curious about?
A. What God will say next, that I could never figure out on my own.

Today I will say to others
Only what the Father
Has already said to me

If to this world
Your life I must speak
Then first of all
To hear You I’ll seek

For I have no wisdom
That can pierce this veil
There’s no mental model
Which never will fail

This world’s too confusing
Chaotic, complex
No matter my brilliance
My thoughts it will vex

If I am to speak
A word in right season
I must heed Your voice
And not my own reason

So I’ll take a moment
To listen to You
So that when I speak
My life will ring true

“I don’t speak on my own.
I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say.
I know that his commands will bring eternal life.
This is why I tell you exactly what the Father has told me.”
