7/15 Bi-Limerick: Yoke Wisdom

Hat tip to folk wisdom

Sometimes it seems a cruel joke
Christ’s promise of an easy yoke
The cross we must bear
Feels quite far from there
Regardless of words He has spoke

Yet this is the truth He evoke
When from this world’s cares I awoke
The self I must be
Now finds itself free
When I’m remade as His bloke!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”‬‬

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭NIV
