If we are to drink the divine
We must learn to silence our whine
The voice of our flesh
Refuses what’s fresh
And clings with a death-grip to “Mine!”
If we’re to be free from our sins
We must let God give us new skins
And see that the cross
Is more gain than loss
For that is where wholeness begins
Today I will wear God-skin / As He wears mine
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined.
